Supporting Boards – New and existing board members are keen to use their skills and experience to fully benefit the organization they have joined. After induction into the organization, board members can still want additional on-going support. An independent person can provide an objective and dispassionate view of the organizations objectives, and support new board and existing members to make a valuable contribution.

Jacqui has over 15 years experience serving on boards and chairing committees. She spent 3 years as chair of Birmingham Voluntary Services Council, two years as chair of the Heart of Birmingham Teaching PCT, Quality Committee; 3 years chair of the BBC West Midlands Advisory Council. She currently serves on the board of Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and is a former Lay Adviser on the West Midland Strategic Management Board, which is responsible for protecting the public from dangerous offenders , violent offenders and sex offenders as well as extremists.

With her experience as a Chair and board member, Jacqui understands the importance of contributing to meetings and constructively challenging the executive. Jacqui understands how to deal with conflicts within boards and the importance of supporting board decisions. Most of all Jacqui understands how to keep at the heart of a board what is best for the organization and the people and communities it serves.
